The Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School (WWCNS) held its 10th annual Trike-a-Thon fund-raiser for St. Jude Hospital on Friday, May 10, in the parking lot of the nursery school.
The school’s students, ages 3 and 4, got to “race” their tricycles around a designated course, which was patrolled by “Officer Mike” (aka the school’s property manager). There was even a trike wash station where students could give their tricycles a good cleaning.
At the end of the event, each student was presented with a St. Jude’s trike-a-thon “license.”
The fund-raiser is held each year at the school to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a not-for-profit hospital specializing in finding cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Once again, the school raised more than $1,000, all of which will go directly to St. Jude’s.
Founded in 1955, the Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School is a private, nonprofit, nondenominational early childhood education program.
