Leonora Scharf, “Lee,” of Westport, formerly of Weston, died on May 30, 2012. She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Scharf was born in New York City on May 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph George and Delia Coblins Berman. She graduated from the Cumnock School in Los Angeles, California, attended the University of Southern California and graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland with a B.A. in Art History.
She was Gallery Director of the Stamford Art Association from 1985 to 1987 and Curator of Art and Collections at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport from 1987 to 1996. She was a Board Member of the Weston Commission for the Arts from 1998 to 2004 and later worked as a free- lance journalist for many local publications.
Married to the late Henry Scharf, she is survived by her daughter Diane Kaufman and her husband Herman and her grandchildren Alexandra and Mark.
A private burial was held. The family requests that donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
