Patrick Bisceglie, former Park and Rec. commissioner, dies at 82

Patrick Bisceglie of Weston, husband of Margaret (Hanly) Bisceglie, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013, surrounded by his family at Norwalk Hospital. He was 82.

Services are set for Wednesday, May 1, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Weston.

Mr. Bisceglie was born on July 18, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the son of the late Gerardo and Lucrezia (Amarosa) Bisceglie.

He served on Weston’s Parks and Recreation Commission for many years in the 1970s, and was instrumental in helping the town purchase the property which now bears his name, Bisceglie-Scribner Park

Hi family described Mr. Bisceglie as a humble man of integrity who gave of himself generously in service to others. He was devoted to his church, family, friends and community, and he remained faithful throughout his life to the ideals of peace, love, and forgiveness, they said.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: four sons, Anthony Bisceglie, Michael Bisceglie, Gerard Bisceglie and John Bisceglie; two daughters, Pam Ferrer and Christine Bisceglie; one sister, Rose Sinisi; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was pre deceased by his brother, William Bisceglie, a sister, Nancy Bollella, and one granddaughter, Jaclyn Bisceglie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road in Westport. All are welcome to a reception at St. Francis of Assisi Church following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Weston EMS, 52 Norfield Road, Weston, CT 06883, or a charity of your choice.
