Girl Scouts of Connecticut is hosting an open house event at Camp Aspetuck in Weston on Sunday, May 5, from 1 to 4. The camp will be open for girls and families to attend and discover the summer camp programs designed for all girls entering first through 12th grade.
The open house will allow families to tour the facilities, meet with camp directors and staff members, and learn about camp life.
“With nine day camps located throughout the state and three residential camps, Girl Scouts of Connecticut offers all girls a safe, fun environment where they can discover their individual strengths, connect with new friends, and take action in their communities,” said Linda Bresky, director of outdoor programs. “Girls participating in our summer camp programs feel a sense of inclusion and community that helps to boost their confidence.”
Camp Aspetuck, at 88 Old Easton Tpk., contains 16 wooded acres and features a nature trail, raised wetlands walk, swimming pools, and a playing field. Programs in archery, archaeology and hiking are available. Free bus service is included for day campers. Bus stops and times, as well as a complete listing of individual camp programs, may be found on the Girl Scouts of Connecticut website at gsofct.org.
